Can sometimes get into permanent state of skipping command messages

Probably has something to do with how I handle the write_in_progress_ flag in async_write_end().

So far has happened after around 2 minutes with command rate of 200Hz, whirlybird rate (on the Arduino) of 100Hz. Was not able to reproduce once the whirlybird rate was increased to 200Hz.
